[ FOR THOSE OF YOU NEW TO THIS BLOG!
Welcome! My name is TAP and I'm utilizing this blog to archive role-play instances in Guild Wars 2 involving my Asuran character, Xeck Jovan. I also post journal entries that my friends make for their characters.
For anyone who I'm roleplaying with, if you are interested in adding you're character's perspective to the blog, post an entry in the comments with the same layout title as the posts and I'll post it in the blog itself (with some spelling corrections here and there if needed).
NOTE: All blog posts are made through a character's perspective, like they are writing a journal entry in a computer or book. The posts go in order like a story, starting with the first post at the top and the most RECENT post at the bottom (I had to change the timestamps to get this order, so don't get confused, the posts with the newest date are actually one of the first posts of the story).
If you have any questions about this blog, or Guild Wars 2, post a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!
Have fun!]

]-[Record 1 of Experiment 27] by Xeck Jovan-[
I keep reminding myself that I need to write down my experiences in this journal for the sake of research. So far my other past experiments with my Krewe haven't gone so well. We haven't hit a vast success rate in our testing and data. My Krewe is planning on something else more prospective; going out and testing the waters to see if there is some innovation that hasn't been acted on yet. So far there are a multitude of Krewes that are ahead on research that we haven't even brushed up on, and it is concerning. I feared that we might never come together as a Krewe again if our next project doesn't work out.
In prospect of a new, slightly less ambitious experiment, my Krewe put together idea to test out a weather changing device. In order to achieve this though, we needed to analyze meteorologic conditions in other areas of Tyria to gain perspective on native weather climates. I 'volunteered' out of a vote, to go out into the Norn moutain lands, the Charr desert area, and the human civilization which were all accessible by our race's gates. My colleagues had, I feel, a more relaxed agenda of measuring weather fluctuations and conditions in areas that are fair this time of year.
I set out with Anemometer and several other instruments in hand to record data during my travels. My trip was dull at first, freezing in Norn winter for my first day. I later found a kind Norn who didn't mind my data searching, and he even assisted me in getting through the northern part of the Wayfarer Foothills. There were several times where I was nearly frozen when he would respond, "It's not cold, it's warm". I couldn't tell if he was joking or being serious. All I know is that he saved me from the brutal north environment more times than I can count.
I spent minimal time in Charr territory my second day. It was dry, and hot. I was able to get good measured readings from the Black Citadel. I aided the Charr in some locations, and had headed back to Rata Sum quickly to process the data.
I need to add a note to my research that spirits of the dead have a major affect on atmospheric disturbances*.
My third day of research in the field was the most intriguing. My day started off in the human civilization of Divinity's reach. The weather was fair, generally speaking. I decided that besides the normal reading of instruments and gear, I should also get human input on the weather as well. I was there in the city, running around seeing if anyone would answer my questions and inquires as to whether the weather changed or not since the past few days. No one stopped to pay mind however. I even found a few of my people there (other Asurans) but they were busy with work. There was however, a particular fellow. I ran into him during my rampant run about looking for humans who would comply to my questioning. He was an Asura like me, but had a different look about him. He stopped walking when I spoke to him. My first reaction was that of jubilation, and I asked him if he could help with my research and answer a few questions. After conversing a bit, mainly on the topic of human behavior, he had to go run a few errands, but invited me to join him to a tavern sometime in the future for a drink. When I ran into him again it was only an hour later, when I was desperately trying to gain attention from the humans by using fireworks. It didn't really help and the humans either jumped back in surprise or awe, and one lady who I had stopped to question was about to ignore me. "I don't talk to oversized mice" She remarked with the rudest tone ever. My newly made friend helped me out. He simply bowed, and spoke to her plainly and was able to get a response out of the bookah more than I have ever hoped. Xeilas, the one who understood my predicament, really decided to help me out more than I had expected. He even gave me advice as to how to talk to humans, "You can't ask them a question for the sake of science, humans don't have scientific ambition. Instead you should ask them simple questions about themselves or their lives, without confusing them." This was an interesting lesson, to learn how to socialize with humans.
But just as soon as success had hit for me, Xeilas and I ran into a sight to behold; two beasts were fighting in front of the city's bank... (To be continued...)

]-[Entry 1: Rata Sum] by Xeck Jovan-[
Upon my return with Xeilas, I couldn't help but think about my lab. There were probably stacks of files, documenting incomplete projects and half-supported research. But organization wasn't my objective at the time. There was still an idea set into my head since going out into the field. 'What if my Krewe expanded outward into Tyria and observed, scientifically, the raw grasp of mother nature? There would be an inexplicable amount of data that would require more tests before our findings could be turned into innovative theories. But, I must admit, I was engulfed with a magic-like zeal for exploring Tyria. Seeing what the world has to offer interests me more than sitting in the lab for long hours every day. I don't know where this lust for discovery has taken route. Maybe it was because of my past years in the college of Dynamics, or maybe because of my upbringing as a progeny. All I know is that now the only option for success would be to apply what my Krewe discovers to the land.
But that would have to wait. My Krewe has looked forward to finishing a project. If we can get enough respect and admiration for our soon to be discovery, we can grow more than just the three of us. Walking around the accounting plaza in Rata Sum, I was able to spot one of my Krewe mates, Zazag.
I had met him during my college years because of my other Krewe mate, and we have held together our research for a good few months. Now as I headed towards his direction, calling out, Xeilas had a quiet demeanor. He had already articulated his feelings for not joining a Krewe, but I wanted to see if I could give him a good impression of it. I called out to Zazag jokingly, "Hey, Krewe mate", which made several people in the crowd turn their heads thinking it was one of their own calling to them. This made me chuckle nervously. Zazag had gotten the message, and smiled smugly as he walked in my direction, "Xeck, have you found any interesting findings in Divinity's Reach?"
I shook my head at this, "Negative. Well almost. I was able to obtain some answers from a human's perspective about their weather, as there weren't any extraordinary meteorological discoveries with the equipment I had. The weather was, to simply put it, fair."
"Make sure to put your findings on file. Even the simplest measurements on humidity and temperature can be variables for the device."
That was Zazag, always one to take the safe path with doing research. Many times have occurred when I didn't properly put my work into a report for later reviewing, and I'd often have trouble with my experiments' final touches.
But I digress. I spoke up, "Hey, before I forget, Zazag, this is Xeilas. He's helped me significantly with my research", and at which Xeilas took off his glove and extended his right hand.
"Pleasure to meet you", He said smoothly. Zazag shook Xeilas hand as well,
"Hello."
I could felt a slight tension from the too of them, and decided to put in another point,
"Don't worry Zazag, Xeilas doesn't bite. I believe he's been to Divinity's Reach for business, and has lived in Lion's Arch for some time." Xeilas poised up and interjected,
"I've been around.... basically... everywhere." Zazag responded to this,
"And so have I."
For a brief moment there was silence. "Hey, Xeilas, I don't intend to keep you from your business, but would you care to see the lab I work at, even for just a short amount of time?" Xeilas nodded,
"Sure, I don't mind at all."
Zazag looked around for a moment, "Hold on, you haven't met Crim yet, Crim would want to be introduced as well. I'll go fetch him", and he left promptly into the crowd.
Me and Xeilas stood about for a few minutes. The population was out in force. There were Asura going to and from the market and bank, some apprentices transporting goods and lab supplies, and loud lab managers who were trying to recruit youthful Asura to join their Krewe. While some Krewes are especially competitive with each other, others can go to great lengths of slander and treachery. I could see it in their eyes as they spoke to groups of newly graduated Asura, "We're testing in Post-phase testing of Chaos material, join our Krewe and build the strongest golems known to Rata Sum!", "Like studying the Eternal? Finding out how our world works? Joining our Krewe will set you off on the right start", "Want to take matters into your own hands? Tired of being restricted from working on a personal project? JOIN THE INQUEST TODAY". There was a sense of superiority and great intellect, but a lack of interest for krewe recruits. Aside from the Inquest, who really will go so far as to use recruits as test experiments, Krewes usually have new recruits set for menial research tasks. These assistants typically go up in rank for the work they do and the discoveries they find. I turned to look at Xeilas after 5 minutes of waiting. He was quiet, with his arms crossed, starring into the crowd. Has he ever been in a lab environment before?
"Hey.... Xeilas, you have to meet Crim, he's witty and funny. I was wondering too, have you been in a lab before?" Xeilas shook his head, and aimed his view at the ground,
"Not at all... I've never been in lab before."
"WHAT? You haven't been in a lab before? You haven't seen wonderful inventions, the magic of science at work-" and before I could go on, Zazag arrived with Crimsonarian, my other Krewe mate.
"Xeilas, this is Crim", Zazag said, "Crim, this is Xeilas". Crim walked up and introduced himself,
"Crimonarian at your service. Crim for short. And this is Poley Mcgee", and pointed to his polar bear pet.
I was still awe struck at the fact that Xeilas has never been to a lab, "My Krewe, we should show Xeilas our lab, he's never been to one."
Zazag nodded, "Here, follow me", and we made our way to the Transport gates, one of which led to our destination...

]-[Entry 2: The Lab] By Xeck Jovan-[
We arrived at the Lab shortly. All it took was to step through the gateway, and we were there. By getting to locations in a blink of an eye, gates have saved the time it takes for people of all races to commune to major cities and to Lion's Arch. Without these, many of the races would've been a lot more isolated, and any traders seeking to travel to the nearest major city would've had to face bandits and rogues of the road.
Nevertheless, when we stepped through the portal, the scenery changed. A wide open expanse appeared before us with a building in the distance. The lab consisted of an indoor workspace, and a outdoor testing area under the roof of beautifully built Asuran architecture. While my Krewe mainly consisted of the three of us, Crimsonarian, Zazag, and myself, there were many researchers present in the lab. As we gave Xeilas a tour of the testing facilities, he made note of the number of people in our Krewe. I took the part in explaining that our Krewe had a few researchers who were moving on from an old Krewe, and thus we could inherit the lab and the people who worked there.
Zazag led the way past several researches who seemed ready to report in, "I'll be just a moment, I need to show a guest our lab". We followed Zazag to the golem construction and testing area. Zazag would every now and then stop and point out several distinct landmarks of the lab, "Here's were we do our tests outside of the lab... Here's a 6 sided cuboidal holo-projector... Here's where we assemble our golems." I would look back at Crimsonarian and Xeilas, who both seemed to exhibit different feelings about the tour. Crim was looking around, and in knowing the lab already, he seemed slightly bored at the tour, but was patient and kind enough to accompany us. Xeilas on the other hand was quiet, and speculative. I could not tell what his feelings were about the tour, but he did seem interested at some aspects of the tour. I was really excited that Xeilas was seeing my lab, since it would justify my actions from Divinity's Reach, where we had first met. I went ahead from the tour, and went to the central hub of the lab. I almost forgotten to compile my report. Earlier Zazag had entered my findings into the central 3D display unit, and we could see what my research in the field has brought back.
But in order to accurately explain my findings, I need to write down my experiences on here, in the computer system. I had an entire file on my trip for Experiment 27 research... but something happened with my report.
I was there in the lab, compiling my report into a readable, easy access file, and I stepped away from the screen for a few moments to notice that the tour group arrived. Zazag walked around the room, explaining its purpose, while Crim spoke with several of the researchers. Xeilas was quiet still, but something was different. It seemed like he had the interest in the sciences. Whenever he spoke, it was as a response to some observation, and in the main lab at that moment, when two Asuran openly spoke about math problem they were having, he provided a solution quicker than it could be written down. This stuck my interests about him even more. Xeilas had paced around a little and had arrived to the computer terminal where my report was being compiled. He stood there and looked at the screen, and a few seconds later he backed away. There was a bolded word on the screen, "ERROR: COMPILING FAILURE". That was when my work was corrupted.
It would take me days to fix the data, and more still to get back on track with the project.
I was able to stop the error from spreading through the system, but now doubts pierced my mind, and I was left wondering whether Xeilas was the one who caused the compiling error or not. Oddly enough, during the scene with me attempting to save the files during the error, Xeilas walked outside. Zazag and Crim went to look for him, and eventually found him sometime later sitting on some steps looking into the sky. If he was trying to sabotage my Krewe, he would have taken an opportunity to get a quick get away. So why was he just sitting around, looking into space? I have decided to confront him about this later. Xeilas, after the door, went his own way to do whatever his profession required of him. And for now I'm left here writing up this makeshift entry to keep an accurate log of the events that have gone on. Let's hope I can get those journal files soon!

]-[Entry 3: The Parade] by Xeck Jovan-[
It's been a few days since the last time I was able to enter my thoughts into my journal. The process to recovering the scrambled data hasn't been completed. Still, in between work sessions with the holo-interface, me and my Krewe have gotten together several times to discuss recruitment. It would be bold to continue on with just the three of us and some other Krewe's researches helping out. But the possibility of completing any future project would be scarce. On the second day since my last entry, me and my two friends met up to discuss ways to attract more members. It was an simple morning in the Lab, which isn't a good thing considering that our project was at a standstill. Zazag posed a question while me and Crim gathered around his desk, "Well Krewemates, we know we have a problem with numbers in our Krewe. As for a solution to this problem, do either of you have ideas for making our Krewe seems attractable?"
Crim and I took a few minutes to think on the situation,
"We definitely should communicate what our Krewe is all about. And with more of a reputation we'll be able to accept assistances by the boatload", Crim said first, "But there are a lot of Krewes to compete with." I was still silently listening when an answer struck inside my head. Zazag nodded at Crim's response and looked at me to see if I had any say in the matter,
"Well, Xeck, do you have any ideas?"
"Yes", I murmured faintly, "The research I did in Divinity's Reach involved a survey, and in order to get the attention of the human bookahs, I used technicolor fireworks to attract attention.... what if we do so for today. What if we can hold a public parade and hold a parade every few weeks. I bet if we can engrave a recruitment parade event into the minds of every living Asuran in Rata Sum, we could make it a tradition! Think of the assistants who would line up after getting a glimpse of what we can do? We can have a few of our inventions working live during the parade and such-", and with that I had to stop myself. I could see Zazag and Crim staring at me in a sort of disbelieving, yet in-awe look. Zazag waited for a moment then put forth a pretty good point,
"Well then, how should we pull off this parade? There's only the three of us, and we don't have.... working inventions as of late to show off." This was a good point. I thought about what would happen if we just tried it,
"We should test it out anyway, like testing out a hypothesis." Crim seemed to support my idea,
"I think Xeck has a point, it would be interesting to see how this plays out."
So this crazy idea was actually put to the test. Zazag agreed to the idea as well, and I had shown him and Crim where we could get fireworks in Rata Sum. Out of all the innovators out there, some Asuran had more or less entertainment-oriented discoveries in mind. The man who made the fireworks is a genius of material combustion and thermo-alchemical properties. Soon me and my two Krewe mates were standing at a corner platform in Rata Sum, fireworks in hand.
.
.
.
The plan was, as it turned out, a success! We were able to attract attention from many different Asura in Rata Sum. As we walked towards the main accounting plaza fireworks shot off in a bright, multi-colored spectacle! I excitedly shouted along the way, "Looking for a Krewe? Join the exciting Applied Alchemagery Krewe today!" Many more lines were shouted from my mouth, and by the end of the parade, when we made a stop in front of the Black Lion Trade Post, we had been accompanied by an Asuran named Toar-O and a mute Charr. We showed the simple group the lab and included them into the Krewe. At the time the Charr seemed out of place, but we decided he could help out the Krewe if we needed the muscle.
Soon more recruits were coming in, including a young girl named Skisir, who had traveled from the Norn Lands to see Rata Sum for the first time.
The process of getting recruits in and transferring them to assistant positions took a lot of work. We introduced Skisir to several tasks that were apart of the Krewe's agenda. She completed the tasks set before here easily, except for an operation that called for replacing weather nodes that were located on nearly impossible to reach floating platforms.
With the recruitment training we were able to deduce a way to properly process recruits who had little to no experience in a Krewe.
But I digress, I really must finish up this decoding, which has been an ailment to my motivation for a long time.

]-[Entry 1: Krewe Plans] by Zazag-[
Xeck has convinced me to write down my ideas and findings, so here goes.
We have been working on Project 27, a mobile weather controlling device that is about the size of a chicken. The only problem is that we have come to a bit of a standstill; Xeck's data got scrambled and the prototypes have not been working to our satisfaction. I have high hopes though. We have a good Krewe, we only need more members. Three people trying to do all the research and maintain the lab is just too much. Luckily Xeck has an idea for recruiting... the problem is it involves fireworks and Crimsonarian. Last time explosives and Crim were put together there was quite a lot of havoc.
I am getting quite anxious on the matter of the Elder Dragons though. While Xeck and Crimsonarian are all wrapped up in Project 27, out in the field and collecting data, I have been in the lab with lots of time to think.
I must put some ideas to Xeck.
I needed to hack into the Arcane Council's archives, but their security was much better than anything I could handle, so I got Crim in to help. He is very good at hacking things. It took a while but he got there and I was able to access their data, research and information on the Dragons. In the mass of files I found a journal writen by Snaff himself, detailing the events and adventures of Destiny's Edge.
Note to self - Visit Eir Stegalkin.

]-[Entry 2: Exploration, Investigation, and Innovation!] by Zazag-[
Crimsonarian showed me how to get to the bottom of Rata Sum the other day. It was fun, dangerous but overall completely pointless. Poley Mc Gee, Crim's Polar Bear, kept getting in the way and almost knocking me off the precarious edges.
I went and saw the Great Eir Stegalkin today. I found her in her house in Hoelbrak where she was trying to carve a bust of Jora. Hoelbrak was a refreshing shock from the hot and humid jungels of Rata Sum. I must say I prefer the heat to the ever present sold. She was kind enough to give me more detail about her adventures with Destiny's Edge. They went up against Kralkatorik, one of the Elder Dragons and lost. Snaff the genius inventor and Glint the dragon-friend of humanity died in the fight. And they had been so close. They used the Dragon's own blood to combat it. Interesting.
Note to self - Visit Zojja.
Other note to self - Talk to Xeck about the Dragons.
While I was there I got to see a statue carved in the likness of Snaff. I am quite interested in what Eir said about his Golems. They could be contolled by a person wearing a special type of laurel. I must look into that.

]-[Entry 1: Another Parade Story] by Crimsonarian-[
Though Xeck has already written about it, another point of view never hurts.
Recruiting new Krewe members was the topic on all of our minds in the lab. Zazag had called a meeting of sorts, so Xeck and I gathered around his desk. Zazag said what we were all thinking. He reminded us that our Krewe members were in short supply. That we needed to increase our ranks to make ourselves more effective. He asked us, “As for a solution to this problem, do either of you have ideas for making our Krewe seem attractable?” And then, from Xeck, the greatest idea I’d heard in a while.
“…in order to get noticed by the human bookahs, I used technicolor fireworks to attract attention… what if we do so for today.” His idea was to hold a public parade every few weeks in the hopes of engraving our parade into the memories of every single Asuran in Rata Sum, and making it a tradition. “Think of the assistants who would line up after getting a glimpse of what we can do,” he said. I turned my head and looked to Zazag, who had the same disbelieving stare that I did, and turned back to Xeck.
After more discussion, our decision to hold a parade was final. Frankly, I loved the idea. I mean, seriously. Walking around Rata Sum, setting off fireworks? Even though my last encounter with explosive decorations didn’t go great, it sounded like a blast! Oh, wow. Writing jokes in a journal entry… oh well.
Anyway, after obtaining the fireworks we needed from a thermo-alchemical Asuran technician, and in a short while, Zazag, Xeck and I were standing at one of the corners of Rata Sum, ready with the fireworks.
Our parade had begun.
As we strolled around the levels of Rata Sum, launching fireworks in every possible direction, people noticed us. Not many joined in on our parade, though. But we still got a fair few followers. For example, an Asura named Toar O. We also met a mute Charr, who was rather nice. Not much else happened during our parade. Hopefully this parade, along with the expeditions and adventures our Krewe undertakes, will prove to increase the ranks of our Krewe, and make us a much more formidable and effective group.

]-[Entry 3 Off To See The Charr, The Wonderful Charr Of Black Citadel ] By Zazag-[
“Remember we are here to talk to her, not anger her”
“Got it”
Crimsoarian spotted the a CHR-P and said “Hello there, CHR-P”
I walked up to the CHR-P and asked it where Zojja was, it replied with:
“Mistress-Zojja-is-out-at-the-moment. Please-return-at-another-space-time-delineation”
I knew that this robot was lying so I threatened it.
“System override. I have business with now. Where is she?”
But the golem went defensive and said:
“Stand-down, Designate-Zazag. Destruction-of-property-imminent”
“Fine. Zojja wouldn’t what her lab busted in her absence. I’ll come back later”
Crimsonarian looked like he was about to attack the golem for being so incolent but I grabbed hime by the arm and dragged him a few feet away.
“I have a feeling that this golem is lying to us and that Zojja is still here”
Sure enough we found Zojja at her pesonal workbench.
“What do you want?” She snapped, “oh its you two”
“We have come to learn more about the dragons”
“What do you want to know?” she asked.
After a lengthy discusion which I will not bore you with, we decided to investigate the mysterious happenings north of the Black Citadel and Hoelbrak. So we headed to the Black Cidatel. I thought we might be able to drop by Tribune Rytlock Brimstone since he was on my list of people to talk to.
We stepped through the portal into the sweltering heat of the desert. The walk was long and hot but we made it to there… eventually.
I walked up the spiral stairs and across the black metal floor untill I got to the Tribunes Quarters. Crim had gone off to the trading posts to get some supplies. I admit that Rytlock Brymstone was quite frightening but to show fear to the Tribune would not help me get the information I wanted and needed. He blamed Logan for the failed battle against Kralkatorrik. I wonder why...
Fortunatly for me he was in a good mood, though he didn’t like a small annoying Asuran asking him questions. I got little information out of him and nothing that I had already knew.
We stepped through the portal into the sweltering heat of the desert. The walk was long and hot but we made it to there… eventually.
Our journey into Ascalon was quite uneventfull. We got turned into cows and fought a Charr named Azalus Poisontongue. We failed to complete our goal or even to find out the exact nature of our goal.

]-[Entry 4: Brawling and Recruitment] By Xeck Jovan-[
I've had an interesting past few days. To summarize it all in detail would require more or less a large part of storage space. Here I'll give a quick synopsis:
During some work in Hoelbrak, I was dragged into a sport the Norn would play. This outlandish game, called Keg Brawling, was actually mildly entertaining, besides the fact that I nearly had the teeth punched out of my mouth, my ribs broken, and my spine cracked. My ears, it was aggressive. Oddly enough I fell in love with the sport. So engaging, so fast-paced, and so... cold. The freezing temperatures didn't get to me all the much since I was running around creating heat in my core. The heavy kegs full of ale were heavy but not too hard to hold onto, lest someone beat it out from my hands.
During the games in Hoelbrak, I made a few friends, and as it turned out there were some Asuran exploring the icy cold Norn lands as well as I. I mentioned to them that we should all meet under the stone roof in our great city of Rata Sum one of these days.
Back to work for the guild, I had gone out to recruit from the masses in Rata Sum. It was interesting because when I say masses, I mean a few Asuran here and there. I had no luck with my recruiting tactics until a small crowd had formed around me, with some sort of handicapped person and his 'guardian', and a busy bodied researcher. I have yet to hear from these few if they cared to join my Krewe (I don't think the bookah one would provide much help), but one from the crowd said that he knew an experienced fellow who was looking for a Krewe, and went to fetch him. Dymish, the experience scientist who was mentioned, arrived shortly after he was sought out, and seemed to take the opportunity of joining the Krewe. He had some sort of shady past where his other Krewe members died, but all of that aside I showed him the lab and provided him with several tasks at hand. I honestly think his help will build the Krewe to a greater potential.
Some other details of my time spent include exploring Lion's Arch with a Charr, and meeting many more individuals along the way.
I wonder what will come next...

]-[Entry 5: Permit Notice] by Xeck Jovan-[
Sharing a lab with other Krewes can be quite bothersome. My Krewe have had a share of troubles with other Krewes, but nothing that would interfere with out work. Recently though, a fellow from another Krewe mentioned during a conversation that in order to test out prototypes that have an especially powerful or possibly dangerous output would need to be approved for testing by the peacemakers before proceeding.
I took the liberty during one of my breaks to head down to the peacemaker station in Rata Sum. It was easy to find their office, after checking with one of the guards, and as I was making my way into the peacemaker establishment, I ran into two officers who seemed to be leaving. They stopped for me remarkably, and were actually able to process my request for a permit.
The procedure was relatively quick. I gave my information, including birthdate and where my Krewe worked. Sure enough, I had a temporary permit. They would give me a new one after they finished processing the data and giving it approved. Until then, they'll be accompanying my Krewe during the first few testing phases.

]-[Entry 6: Alcohol, And Brain Surgery] by Xeck Jovan-[
Things have changed for me. Let's just say my motivation for my endeavors has shifted. The central reason for this being.... I don't know.
It all started out with a night of drinking. While I was taking a break from work, a lady walked up behind me and exclaimed that there was a pretty girl sitting on the other side of the counter. Out of curiosity, I stood up and walked over, commenting, "Well you look dashing yourself" (or something like that. I can't quite remember).
When I laid my eyes on the girl, well she seemed to fit the simple description of 'pretty' by a good margin. As I stood near the bar, drink in hand, the lady who had urged me to go walk over seemed to try to toy around with me and the girl. I think she might have whispered a few things into the girl's ears about me, making the girl exclaim, "But I have a boyfriend". I'm afraid that in my drunkeness, I didn't know what was going on. On top of that, the lady whispered to me to put on some moves, at which, I started dancing. The alcohol was getting to my brain, and I couldn't contain myself. Somehow I excited about running into the two new friends, and offered to buy their drinks. Something about the girl obviously made me change my mind about drinking, and I ran off all the way back to the lab.
Confusing, I know. A man under the influence can lose track and do many things. When I ran back, I had entered an entry into the log. I removed it as a main log, but here it is:
[---------]
KREWE! Gueess what. I some lass pointed out this really..... cute.... cute girl. I don't know. I bragged about my Krewe and out invention, and how the drink is good for a hrd day of work.
She smiled I think! I feel weird. I offered drinks and danced. I told her to wait for me to come back. Both of them. But she has a boyfriend. this is odd. Thinking about that now......
[---------]
I remember sobering up after a small nap, my face wet from tears, for god knows why. And upon noticing the situation, I decided to run back to the bar, even though it was late. In my return, I noticed that the lady and the girl were still at the bar. They had been discussing the possibility of brain surgery, or rather, the lady was trying to convince the girl to get brain surgery. It didn't make since at the time, but the girl had some sort of learning disorder.
I was able to get the girls name that night. Naxxi retired from the night, and that leaved me to speak with the lady, who's name was (insert). (insert) seemed determined to test out the operation on Naxxi's brain, and asked that if I wanted to help, that I should help convince Naxxi to follow through with it, to help Naxxi's intellect.
But the idea of working on an individual's brain, even if it should benefit their wellbeing, seems risky. I would not like to have someone's life threatened just to have brain operation.
Also, I can't seem to ignore the fact that I have a strange feeling towards this girl. I must put this aside for now, as I have work to do for my Krewe...

]-[Entry 7: Bar Meet And The Inquest Issue] by Xeck Jovan-[
I find that taking breaks can be refreshing and can even improve one's productivity (in moderation). In the hopes of getting the Krewe together for a break from all of our duties, I organized a meeting to take place at the local bar.
Hours after getting the word out, my friends and I had gathered together at the pub. My colleagues had taken leave from the lab for several days for field work and other objectives, so seeing them again was almost like a family reunion. Skisir, one of the apprentices, was serving the drinks. As I recall, she mentioned that she had experience with many bars in Hoelbrak.
Drinks in hand, we chatted about our work and our recent discoveries. Eventually the group were musing about what I'd been up to, and that's when I told them the story about the girl and the brain surgery idea.
Odd though, as soon as I told them about the girl, she happened to arrive at the bar, in Inquest armor! It was a startling sight. Naxxi didn't appear to be the kind of persona (or intellect) to be a good-for-nothing Inquest. My Krewe mates were alarmed at the Inquest gear, and they, along with my own opinion, tried to convince Naxxi why her "Krewe" were up to no good. Naxxi, somehow oblivious to how dangerous the Inquest are, wondered why we were trying to put down her Krewe's reputation.
After some talk, Naxxi didn't change her mind about being in with the Inquest, but I was able to convince her to come with my Krewe one of these days to observe exactly what the Inquest do with their experiments.
I promptly left after to put this all down. Why do I feel like I should help out Naxxi when I hardly know her?

]-[Entry 4: ?!] by Zazag-[
I have been working in the lab so I haven’t had time to go visit Caithe or Logan. I sent my younger brother, Kzothe, out to talk to them instead. He's an experienced, cheeky young thief unfortunately always getting himself into trouble.
He told me the meeting with Caithe had gone well; she told him a great deal of things to do with the weaknesses of certain creatures but nothing new about the dragons. But it was during the meeting with Logan Thackery that he decided to do something stupid.
Logan is ok for a human (and I don't have a problem with humans unlike most Asurans); he's a good leader for the Seraph. Kzothe had been talking to Logan for less than five minutes when he decided to steal Logan's sword. Not many people know this, but Logan’s sword belonged to his brother who died in Ebonhawke during the creation of the Dragonbrand. So I’m sure you understand why, when a small, annoying asuran tries to steal your dead brother's sword, he got quite annoyed. The only thing stopping him from chopping Kzothe’s head off was the fact that he wasn’t legally allowed to do it.
The next thing I know I’m getting a message from my dear brother saying that he had talked to Logan and it had gone fine. Logan hated Rytlock. Logan had done his duty by going to help his Queen. Oh, also that he was in a cell in Divinity’s Reach.
When I finally managed to bail him out, I made him come back to Rata Sum.
We had finally all got together again; Crimsonarian, Xeck, Skisir and I were all sitting at the bar. The Krewe was all together in one place.
Xeck was talking about a new Asura he had recruited called Dymish and about a lady he had met. We didn’t push for to much information on the subject of the lady since he wasn’t too keen to talk about her. It was obvious he liked her though.
We were sitting there drinking, talking about the Inquest and enhancements that could be made to the brain if they let me. There was no bartender so Skisir took over. She was saying that she had learnt ho
The Dragon King: We were sitting there drinking, talking about the Inquest and enhancements that could be made to the brain if they let me. There was no bartender so Skisir took over. She was saying that she had learnt how to make many different drinks from growing up in Heolbrak, when a female Asura walked up to us.
“I’m with the Inquest” she said, having overheard our conversation.
That stopped us dead.
“Umm…” Skisir, Crim and I said together.
“This is her”, Xeck whispered.
Anger flashed across Ski’s face.
“But the Inquest are evil! They are horrible! How can you work for them?!” she almost yelled.
“Skisir!,” I said, “calm down!”
“Well they are!”
“Skisir!”
“Fine” she said looking angry.
“Lets start again,” I turned to the new woman, “Hello I am Zazag”
“Naxxi” she replied.
“These are my Krewemates,” I said gesturing to my companions “Crimsonarian, Skisir and I believe you already know Xeck”
She nodded.
The expression on Skisir’s face was livid.
“You said you’re with the Inquest?!” Crim asked with a hint of disbelief.
Naxxi noded again.
“But they are EVIL!” he said practically shouting.
“Have you seen some of the stuff they do!?” Skisir growled.
“Even I am amazed that you are with the Inquest,” I glanced at Xeck “they have tried to kill me. The things they do are quite… horrifying.”
Crimsonarain and Skisir were getting quite heated whilst Xeck was trying to talk to Nexxi, so I made a decision.
“Crimsoanrian, Skisir, with me!” and I walked off.
Once we were a safe distance but could still see them I lowered my voice, “Lets let them talk.”
“But..” Skisir began and I cut her off.
“Yes we can still listen in!”
She smiled. We walked around till we found a place where we could climb to a point where we were above them.
“So you are going to go though with the brain surgery?” Xeck asked.
“Probably but I’ll ask my parents first” replied Naxxi.
“Shouldn’t we tell him to find someone else?” Ski asked.
I though about this. “We are his friends and we will not interfere”
“But if we are his friends then shouldn’t we tell him to find someone else?” Ski asked.
I though about this. “We are his friends and we will not interfere”
“But if we are his friends then shouldn’t we stop this so she doesn’t break his heart?”
“I will not get in the way, it is his decision, I will support him no matter what he does. If she breaks his heart I will still be there to suport him”
“I know what you mean Ski but I agree with Zazag” Crim inputed.
“Gaaah you’re right but she is with the Inquest!”
They had finished talking and they were saying their fairwells.
“Move!” I whispered loudly.
When Xeck found us we were nearby watching some dancers doing the Golem.
“How went it?” Crim asked.
“Good”, Xeck replied.

]-[Entry 8: Missing Cousin] By Xeck Jovan-[
I travelled to Hoelbrak via a portal, and went out to conduct some research. My second day into the venture though, I had received a message that my family was in a state of disarray. My cousin, Vendell, had apparently been locked up by the Peacemakers, for reasons unknown. Since I was busy with my work, I tried to contact my Krewe mates who were still in Rata Sum to see if they could get her out of prison. When I heard back from them... they were able to get her out, but did so by disrupting peacemaker activity, busting Vendell out of the cell.
I hurried back to Rata Sum, and upon my arrival I learned that not only did the peacemakers get upset at the actions my Krewe mates caused, but also Vendell went missing in the aftermath.
I took on the task of approaching the peacemakers directly. As it turned out, Vendell wasn't supposed to be imprisoned, and they didn't have her on file. The circumstances of how she appeared in the Peacemaker jail was perplexing. In light of this, I made a missing persons report to the Peacemakers to see if they could help find her.
I haven't spoke to Vendell for a long while. I feel guilty for not keeping in contact because of my work. I hope she is alright...

]=[Entry 1: A new chapter...] By Xeck Jovan=[
Finally, after a long intermission I'm able to come back and clear the dust off my lab panel. I know it has been few weeks since I've last wrote an entry but that matters not! I am still progressing through my research in my Krewe...
Well actually things have come to a stand still. I was actually able to locate my cousin, Vendell, or rather, she returned after Crimson ran into her. As it turned out, she thought the peacemakers were after her because of the inquest. She's home now and is still attending her courses, thankfully, but because of the little span of time it took to find her, my Krewe's work on the project has suffered. I've been taking these past few weeks to work especially hard in obtaining special materials for the meteorological altering device. All I need now is for my Krewe mates to assemble once again to make a prototype, and then we'll be ready to show it off to the world!
On a side note, I've been taking some personal trips for a different experiment of mine. It has something to do with the weather orb, but also, with what my friend Xeilas had told me when we met. I want to see what the other races act like. Strange, I know, but I figure that I'll be able to bring out my creativeness and gain some inspiration from observing the daily trials that other non-asuran beings face. So far I've met a Human, a Charr, and a Sylvari for such an experiment. There should be more of a control group and more tests, but, this is just for my personal observation and interests. I'm sure Zazag and Crimsonarion will understand my personal endeavors.
